Attack of The Mini Tennis Games

In the past, I’ve written about how the game of tennis should have a “big tent” and include and support all of the mini tennis variations that are rising up.

Now I’m not so sure.

Small court games like Pickleball, Touch Tennis, and Padel—and others—are growing fast and stealing players away from big court tennis.

In the end, there are only so many racquet players to go around, and big court tennis may have to reluctantly go to war against small court tennis.

At some point, stakeholders in the tennis community may have to stand firm and fight our players—and the sovereignty of our game above all challengers.

There is a danger in promoting and cozying up to mini tennis variations as they steal players from traditional tennis.
