Another misrepresentation is when academies promote their annual players, who receive extra attention and the best coaching, to families looking for a good summer training environment. Many academies pull a bait-and-switch here too.
The kids coming in for summer don’t get access to the same level of training, coaching, or special attention that the annual campers receive.
I know some academies in Spain that keep the summer quality up, but it’s rare around the world because many academies rely on big summer profits to stay afloat financially.
The summer profits help support the annual scholarship players!
I just don’t like this whole business model in general, but it is the way the modern tennis academy functions.
