Toni Nadal Wisdom

“I was once with a father at a junior tournament, and he was complaining that the rival’s father was talking to his kid during the whole match—that it was unfair.

I said to him that—on the contrary—he should not complain because the other father was making things worse for his kid and confusing him…

Parents should be more reserved and give only simple advice at tournaments. They should also not cheer in exaggerated ways. At the right times it’s fine—but it should be natural.

Parents should understand that a kid is already facing pressure and challenges on the court. They should not add to those pressures.”
