—The Wisdom of Toni Nadal—
Toni explained that all Rafa’s life he reiterated the following message:
“Yes, you play good tennis. But you’re just hitting a ball with a racket. A genius is someone like Steve Jobs who changed the world. You play tennis, you’re good at hitting a ball with a racket…
The problem is when a 12- or 13-year-old plays well tennis, he starts to be allowed to do certain things that are not his age. That’s how the monster is created.
When you start accepting that a kid is disrespectful, for example, just because he plays good tennis. That’s when you’re learning a player.
The player has to realize that he plays tennis, nothing more.
He’s not doing anything for humanity. He shouldn’t think he’s more important than that.”
