Note from Chris: The words Organization and Order are frequently used in Spain to help describe the Spanish philosophy of developing solid players with good fundamentals and control. Control is another important word in the Spanish coach’s lexicon. For Spanish coaches, a player’s game should be organized around good movement and footwork skills and reliable groundstrokes. Consistency is held in high regard and is a big developmental priority. Additionally, players must be in good physical condition and make sound tactical decisions. All of these aspects contribute to the organization and order of a player. From the Spanish perspective, it is foolish to focus on other developmental priorities if the above mentioned skills are not in place.
